Volunteer Day: Crafting Blue Ribbons for Color It Blue

Help us spark hope … one blue ribbon at a time.

Each April, Brave Step honors Sexual Assault Awareness Month and National Child Abuse Prevention Month through our Color It Blue campaign. These blue ribbons become powerful visual reminders that survivors are seen, supported and not alone.

Lend a Hand, Spread Hope

Volunteer with Purpose

Join fellow volunteers to assemble blue ribbons that will be shared across the community. No craft skills are needed, just willing hands and a caring heart! This is a great opportunity for individuals, friends, families, service groups or corporate teams.

Team Up for Impact

Every ribbon helps spark conversations that might not happen otherwise. By raising awareness, we not only show survivors and loved ones that they’re seen and supported, we also strengthen prevention efforts by encouraging education, dialogue and safer communities for everyone.

Every Contribution Counts

Don’t have time to volunteer? You can still help by donating blue ribbons, safety pins or supplies through our Amazon Wish List.

Why Your Involvement Matters

Sexual violence affects millions of people, and it’s up to all of us to make a difference.
  • Widespread Impact: Nearly 50% of women and more than 1 in 6 men in the U.S. experience sexual violence in their lifetime (CDC).
  • Frequency of Assault: Every 68 seconds someone is sexually assaulted in the U.S. Shockingly, every 9 minutes that person is a child (RAINN).
  • Collective Responsibility: One hundred percent of us are impacted by sexual violence, highlighting the need for community awareness and action.
