In April for Sexual Assault Awareness Month and National Child Abuse Prevention Month, join Brave Step as we “Color It Blue.” Color It Blue is Brave Step’s signature campaign to encourage survivors, loved ones, allies and the community to embody their advocacy and initiate new conversations about this pervasive issue.

Family and Allies of a Young Survivor Group

Join us as we help parents, allies and caregivers learn how to support a child survivor of sexual abuse. This free, six-session program begins April 18 and will help you find connection with other loved ones, learn about the impact of sexual violence, gain knowledge and skills to use as an ally, and find a safe place to share, ask questions and grow.

Consent and Body Safety Workshop

Whether you are a parent, caregiver or ally of a toddler up to a teenager, having brave and honest conversations with those you care about is a critical step in preventing sexual violence. Join us May 3 at 7 p.m. as therapist Kaitlyn Armstrong shares information and skills that will empower you on the topic of consent and body safety. This event is held in partnership with Amazing Grace Advocacy and will take place at 1030 Central Drive NW in Concord, N.C.

HRV Biofeedback Training for Survivors

Sign up to participate in a 8 session small group Heart Rate Variability (HRV) Biofeedback Training with Carolinas Biofeedback Clinic. Biofeedback uses science to teach the art of human self-regulation.  If you have anxiety, depression, PTSD, experience fatigue or get migraines, this program can help to promote changes in thinking, emotion and behavior to support your desired physiological changes including increased calmness, sleep and focus.
