πŸ’™ Voices of Change πŸ’™ Some people choose a p πŸ’™ Voices of Change πŸ’™

Some people choose a profession. Others choose a purpose.

For Amy Sanderson, LCMHC, LCAS, CSS, NCC, supporting survivors is deeply personal.

"I have personally overcome powerlessness and received encouragement to take back my power. That gift was given to me, and I can pass it on to others."

With more than 22 years of experience working in trauma and addiction, Amy brings not only clinical expertise, but also compassion, humility, and a belief that recovery is possible. She understands that every survivor's journey is unique and that meaningful support begins with creating a space where people feel safe, respected, and empowered.

When asked why she joined the Brave Step family, Amy shared that she wanted to support a mission that reflects her dedication to women and empowerment.

She also reminds us that none of us grows alone.

Her secret to success? *"Give credit to those who helped you succeed. We never grow independently."*

At Brave Step, we're grateful for providers like Amy whose work reflects the power of connection, community, and helping others reclaim their voice and their future.

πŸ’™ Small Items. Lasting Impact. πŸ’™ It starts πŸ’™ Small Items. Lasting Impact. πŸ’™

It starts with a roll of blue ribbon.

But it doesn't end there.

That ribbon becomes thousands of awareness ribbons shared across our community during Color It Blue. It starts conversations in workplaces, churches, schools, businesses and neighborhoods.

Sometimes a ribbon reminds a survivor they are not alone.

Sometimes it helps someone recognize the signs of trauma.

Sometimes it encourages a conversation that otherwise never would have happened.

A simple supply becomes an invitation to learn, care and act.

This week during SHARE Charlotte's Shop for Good campaign, you can help us create those moments by donating items from our wish list. πŸ’™ Small Items. Lasting Impact. πŸ’™

πŸ’™ Every Day Support πŸ’™ Support doesn’t alw πŸ’™ Every Day Support πŸ’™

Support doesn’t always look the way we expect.

Sometimes we think support means checking in often, calling to see how someone is doing, or offering solutions. But for someone navigating trauma or a difficult season, those actions may not always feel supportive.

Support starts with curiosity.

Instead of assuming, try asking:
πŸ’™ Would you prefer a call, text, or some space?
πŸ’™ How can I support you today?
πŸ’™ Would it help if I checked in, or would you rather reach out when you’re ready?

For some people, a phone call feels comforting. For others, an unexpected call can feel overwhelming.

For some, frequent messages feel caring. For others, it can create pressure to respond before they’re ready.

The most supportive thing we can do is listen, respect boundaries and honor what someone tells us they need.

Small moments of awareness can create stronger connections.

Because everyday support starts with seeing the person in front of us, not just what we think they need.
