💙 Voices of Change: Nicole For many survivors, 💙 Voices of Change: Nicole

For many survivors, one of the hardest parts of recovery is feeling like you have to explain yourself — your reactions, your boundaries, your story — even to people who care about you.

In this short video, Nicole shares what it’s been like to find sisterhood and safety in Brave Step’s peer groups, a space where there’s a shared understanding, a “common language,” and no pressure to explain in order to be believed.

“It’s a safe place,” she says. “A place that lets you know you’re not alone.”
In the room with other women, she found the words she wished others had known how to offer — compassion, validation and care.

Nicole’s voice reminds us that growth doesn’t have to happen in isolation.
Sometimes, change begins with being met exactly where you are.

Education Is Prevention, and it often starts at ho Education Is Prevention, and it often starts at home.

Many caregivers want to talk about consent and body safety with their kids…
but aren’t sure where to begin.

What’s age-appropriate?
What if I say the wrong thing?

That’s why we’re sharing the “Consent & Body Safety” Changemaker training led by the amazing advocate, Jayneen Sanders.

This workshop offers practical, age-appropriate tools to help you talk with children about:
• body safety
• feelings
• safe vs. unsafe touch
• consent and respectful relationships

You don’t have to have all the perfect words.
You just have to be willing to start the conversation.

Because when children learn about safety and consent early, prevention begins.

One Brave Thing: Interrupt Harm — Gently, When Y One Brave Thing: Interrupt Harm — Gently, When You Can.

Sexist comments can seem small in the moment.
But they help create a culture where disrespect and harm are normalized.

Here are 3 brave ways to respond when you hear a sexist comment:
• Name it: “That doesn’t sit right with me.”
• Ask a question: “What do you mean by that?”
• Shift the moment: “Let’s keep this respectful.”

You don’t have to call someone out perfectly.
You don’t have to turn it into a debate.
Sometimes, the bravest thing is simply not letting it slide.

Small moments of interruption help build safer spaces and safer spaces help prevent harm.

One brave thing this weekend: notice, pause and choose a response that aligns with your values.
