✨ Voices of Change | Welcome, Ericka Ellis-Stewa ✨ Voices of Change | Welcome, Ericka Ellis-Stewart ✨

We are thrilled to welcome Ericka Ellis-Stewart to the Brave Step community as our Spring 2026 MSW Practicum Clinical Intern!

Ericka is a Master of Social Work student at @unccharlotte and brings a powerful blend of lived experience and professional expertise in mental health advocacy, suicide prevention, community engagement and program development. Her work is grounded in trauma-informed, survivor-centered care and a deep belief in safety, empowerment and recovery for all survivors.

A graduate of @queensuniv, Ericka is also a Level I & II Reiki Practitioner, YTT/YRT Yoga Instructor, and a Suicide Prevention Master Trainer with the QPR Institute, reflecting her holistic and compassionate approach to healing.

As a practicum intern, Ericka is eager to deepen her clinical skills while contributing meaningfully to Brave Step’s mission. Her voice, heart and commitment to this work already make her a powerful force for change.

Please join us in welcoming Ericka to the Brave Step family 💙
Education doesn’t happen in isolation. It happen Education doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens in partnership.

This February, we’re recognizing the Color It Blue partners who make education and awareness possible — not just through visibility, but through belief in prevention, recovery and community responsibility.

What’s often not talked about:
Education-focused partnerships consistently reach people before they ever identify as survivors, loved ones or supporters.

Many first encounters with trauma-informed language happen in classrooms, workplaces and community spaces, long before someone ever reaches out for help.

Because of our Color It Blue partners:
• conversations about consent and boundaries happen earlier
• stigma is disrupted in everyday spaces
• survivors learn they are not alone, sometimes without ever saying a word

Awareness isn’t just about campaigns. It’s about creating conditions where silence is interrupted and support becomes visible.

As we move closer to April’s Color It Blue campaign, we’re grateful for the partners who understand that education is action and that courage often starts with learning.

💙 Thank you, @uwharriebank, @republic_services, @bootsetc, Complete Dentistry, @ameliesfrenchbakery, @roperconstructioncompany and @roperpt, for standing with allies, loved ones and survivors.

Silence is never neutral. Support can be life-chan Silence is never neutral.
Support can be life-changing.

This February, we’re naming the impact silence has on survivors and reminding our community that showing up matters. 💙
