A new longitudinal study published in the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry reveals that when a mother experiences adversity as a child, it can significantly influence her children’s emotional, behavioral and cognitive development. These early traumas don’t stay in the past. They shape maternal mental health, relationships, caregiving and even socioeconomic stability. This is why receiving help and support matters. For survivors. For families.
