In many communities of color, recovery from trauma In many communities of color, recovery from trauma doesn’t always look like therapy or diagnosis. It looks like storytelling. Prayer. Dance. Shared meals. Aunties who hold space.

🧠 Fact: Studies show that BIPOC communities often turn to informal, culturally-rooted support systems over traditional mental health care; yet these forms of growth are powerful and valid.

Choosing to recover from trauma, whether through tradition, therapy or community, is a radical act of love.

This Minority Mental Health Month, we honor the many ways our communities survive, thrive and rise. 💪🏽🌿

🔷 Behind the Brave: “For the little girl in m 🔷 Behind the Brave: “For the little girl in me who didn’t have a voice.”

Behind every brave step is a story, often one that started in silence.

This one’s for the little girl who wasn’t heard.
Who carried too much.
Who learned to stay quiet to survive.

And now?
She has the courage to write this message on a posterboard.
To let her voice be heard and begin the journey forward.
Speaking not just for her past but for her future.

💙 When survivors reclaim their voice, they honor every version of themselves along the way. That’s what it means to be Behind the Brave.
