Last week, members of Brave Step’s Board of Dire Last week, members of Brave Step’s Board of Directors and Advisory Board came together for strategic planning, taking time to reflect, align and look ahead with intention.

We’re grateful for the leadership of Vilma Gruttner in guiding these conversations and for the generous partnership of @lifeatcla for hosting us in Charlotte.

These behind-the-scenes moments matter. Thoughtful planning helps us strengthen survivor care, expand prevention education and grow our impact in community.

Thank you to our board and advisory leaders for showing up with heart and purpose. 💙

Everyday Courage Isn’t Always Loud. Sometimes, i Everyday Courage Isn’t Always Loud.
Sometimes, it signs up.

As February comes to a close, we’re reminded that courage often looks ordinary — showing up, listening well, offering steady presence.

And we need that kind of courage in our community.

Brave Step is currently seeking:
💙 Peer Leaders — to help hold trauma-informed, survivor-centered spaces
💙 Meat Fest Planning Committee Members — to bring creativity and heart to one of our signature gatherings
💙 Volunteers for our April 21 Color It Blue event — to help turn awareness into visible, community-wide support

You don’t need to have all the answers.
You don’t need to be “perfectly prepared.”
You just need to care.

This is how awareness grows.
This is how community strengthens.
This is everyday courage in action.

Interested? We’d love to connect. 💙

Volunteers are essential to our success. Whether you have 30 minutes or three hours to contribute, we can utilize your passion and skills.

At Brave Step, we work to build a strong, supportive community by helping adults impacted by sexual violence claim the life they deserve; fostering brave public conversations about sexual violence; and cultivating a community of courageous changemakers to take action and help prevent future sexual violence.
