💙 Supporting Yourself Matters 💙 Supporting 💙 Supporting Yourself Matters 💙

Supporting others starts with supporting yourself.

Many of us are taught to keep going, say yes, and put everyone else first. But caring for yourself isn’t selfish. It’s part of sustaining healthy relationships and showing up as your best self.

This week, consider:
✨ Setting a boundary that protects your energy
✨ Giving yourself permission to rest
✨ Noticing and naming what you’re feeling

Self-support isn’t about doing less for others. It’s about creating enough space to care for yourself, too.

Because your needs matter.
Because your wellbeing matters.

🔥 Save the Date + Join the Story 🔥 Last yea 🔥 Save the Date + Join the Story 🔥

Last year, you showed up.

You gathered around tables, connected with friends, shared stories, bid on bourbon, celebrated great BBQ and together, you helped create something bigger than an event.

You helped create recovery, hope and support for survivors.

And now… we’re getting ready to do it again.

📅 Save the Date: Meat Fest 2026 — October 24

As we begin planning for another incredible year, we have a question for those who’ve attended before:

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to help bring Meat Fest to life?

We’re inviting past attendees and supporters to consider joining the Meat Fest Planning Committee. Whether you enjoy events, sponsorships, fundraising, logistics, storytelling or simply bringing people together, there’s a place for you.

This is a chance to help shape an event that fuels Brave Step’s mission and creates meaningful impact in our community.

You’ve experienced Meat Fest. Now come help create it.

Interested? Send us a message at info@bravestep.org or let us know below.

💙 One Brave Thing 💙 What if one brave thing 💙 One Brave Thing 💙

What if one brave thing this week was reaching out for support?

The recovery journey after sexual trauma can feel isolating, but you don't have to navigate it alone. Brave Step's support groups offer a space where survivors can connect with others who understand, share experiences without judgment and find strength in community.

As Nicole shares in this video, there is something powerful about being truly seen and heard by people who understand your journey.

Whether you're a survivor considering your next step or someone who knows a survivor who may benefit from support, we invite you to learn more about our men's and women's support groups.

Sometimes one brave thing is simply saying, "I don't have to do this alone."

💙 Consider joining a support group.
💙 Share this post with a survivor who may need it.
💙 Help someone know that recovery is possible and support is available.
