One Brave Thing: Interrupt Harm — Gently, When Y One Brave Thing: Interrupt Harm — Gently, When You Can. Sexist comments can seem small in the moment. But they help create a culture where disrespect and harm are normalized. Here are 3 brave ways to respond when you hear a sexist comment: • Name it: “That doesn’t sit right with me.” • Ask a question: “What do you mean by that?” • Shift the moment: “Let’s keep this respectful.” You don’t have to call someone out perfectly. You don’t have to turn it into a debate. Sometimes, the bravest thing is simply not letting it slide. Small moments of interruption help build safer spaces and safer spaces help prevent harm.
