💜 Behind the Brave | It Starts With Us This qu 💜 Behind the Brave | It Starts With Us

This quote captures the heartbeat of Brave Step and the truth that recovery doesn’t happen alone. It happens through a community willing to show up, speak up and stand beside those impacted by sexual violence.

We’re reminded that every act of compassion, every dollar given, every voice raised helps restore safety, dignity and hope.

Recovery starts with courage.
Change starts with community.
And this season, it starts with us. 💙

Voices of Change | Dr. Gene Edwards Today, we hon Voices of Change | Dr. Gene Edwards

Today, we honor Dr. Gene Edwards, who has faithfully served on Brave Step’s Advisory Board since 2020, including the past year as Chair. Gene’s leadership has been unwavering, steady, compassionate and grounded in a deep belief that survivors and loved ones deserve enduring support.

During his tenure, he helped guide Brave Step through growth, transitions and bold new initiatives, always bringing curiosity, clarity and a calm, thoughtful voice. His commitment to learning, listening and championing trauma-informed change has made Brave Step stronger and more resilient.

We are profoundly grateful for his years of service and his lasting impact on our mission.

Thank you, Gene, for being a true Voice of Change.
As news around the Epstein files continues to buil As news around the Epstein files continues to build, we want to take a moment to speak directly to survivors and allies in our community.

For Survivors:
You have a choice in how much you engage with this coverage or if you engage at all. You are not obligated to read, watch or follow any updates. Now is a good time to make a plan for how you want to care for yourself in the days ahead: set boundaries, lean on your support system and prioritize what feels safe for you. Your wellbeing comes first.

For Allies:
Your attentiveness matters. The language used online and in conversations can impact those around you more than you know. Approach this moment with sensitivity - avoid speculation, practice empathy and create space for those who may be hurting or retraumatized by the news cycle. Small acts of care can make a big difference.

Brave Step is here for survivors, loved ones and our community as we navigate this together. You are not alone.
