Lean in and Learn 💡 New research confirms what Lean in and Learn 💡 New research confirms what we’ve long seen in our work: The impact of childhood adversity, including sexual violence, can ripple through generations. A new longitudinal study published in the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry reveals that when a mother experiences adversity as a child, it can significantly influence her children’s emotional, behavioral and cognitive development. These early traumas don’t stay in the past. They shape maternal mental health, relationships, caregiving and even socioeconomic stability. This is why receiving help and support matters. For survivors. For families.
